Point Lepreau

Please support the movement to stop the refurbishment experiment at the Point Lepreau nuclear power station. Concerned groups, individuals and First Nations across North America are urging the New Brunswick government to end the nuclear power age.

Decommissioning Point Lepreau will create safer, more resilient and sustainable communities and many new jobs in energy efficiency, conservation and renewable energy. The refurbishing experiment is a waste of taxpayer dollars and would only generate 30 more years of harmful emissions and radioactive waste.

IICPH project manager Willi Nolan at the Point Lepreau Decommissioning Caucus press conference, Fredericton, 1 September 2010

Fredericton, September 1, 2010 – On Wednesday, September 1st, 2010, a coalition of groups (including, amongst others: Concerned Citizens of Saint John, Conservation Council of New Brunswick, Fundy Baykeeper, International Institute of Concern for Public Health, People Against Nuclear Energy, Sierra Club of Canada Atlantic Chapter) released important information lacking in the nuclear debate around Point Lepreau.
